This morning, Haiden asked me if he could write a book, so we set him up for book writing. It ended up being so funny, I just had to share it. Here it is word for word...
"Dead" by Haiden:
Once upon a time, there was a boy walking down the street saying "hi" to everyone. It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the birds were singing. Until... He got run over by a car! Now the sun was not shining, the birds were not singing, and it was silent... Very silent. But... He came... BACK To life. The end.
Illustrations show a sunny day, then a guy getting hit by a car, and the next page shows the guy saying "what the heck happened?" An index is included listing: 1. A sunny day. 2. A car hit me! 3. I came back to life. 4. Yay!
Just a tip for you parents out there who are sick and tired of buying DVDs for your kids only to have them get totally scratched up and ruined within 3 viewings....GET A VCR!! We borrowed my sister-in-law's VCR so Jeremy could watch some old home videos he had, and at the same time borrowed some of her VHS movies for the kids to watch. The kids were absolutely mystified by what this mysterious machine was and couldn't believe that we could actually watch movies with it! Well...I gotta tell you. This was probably the best invention ever. VHS tapes are almost indestructible and are cheaper than all get-out now that they are pretty much obsolete. Plus, we found that you can get a VCR for like $15-20...bonus! Keep the DVDs for yourself.
This was a fun project for my sister's baby shower 2 weeks ago.
I had so much fun making this up, I want to find ways to make more! Etsy is my next step probably, since I noticed there are a few on craigslist for $15 each and I have no idea how to compete with that price. I mean, the diapers alone cost at least that!
This one in particular was done with disposable diapers on the bottom layer, cloth in the middle, and onesies on the top.
For a total lack of anything to say or write about, I present to you my supercute puppy Lucille...
You may recall a few months ago we got her and she was a whopping 2.8 pounds and we could hold her in our hand. Here she is today, at about 5 months old, 34 pounds (now topping Hannah in height and weight).
Pink and brown is out, in with a new look. At least for now. Do you know how long it took me to get this together? Forever! I know absolutely nada about blogging or creating my "look"...it was so frustrating!
I just came to the conclusion that I am kinda sick of the pink/brown theme here. I think I might try to learn about blogging so I can snazz it up a bit and make it look a little more better. (A little more better? Where the hell did that come from??) Sheesh.
Well...this has been a week of firsts! Allow me to share a few with ya.
1. I said no to donut #2 on donut day (will explain what donut day is someday, but will leave it at that for now).
2. I bought a scarf from Old Navy to go with my Old Navy coat and Old Navy fleece zip up thinger majobber. If you knew how much I have hate that store, you would know this was a big deal. And if you knew how much I feel like barfing or rolling my eyes whenever I see what I call the "scarf clones," you would know what a big deal it was for me to buy one from there, let alone anywhere...and actually wear it.
3. I bought a cell phone. My first. Really! If you know me, you know I have a huge thing against cell phones. I mean, we lived without them forever and I don't get WHY everyone thinks they need one now when we were perfectly fine for, what, 2000 years? Plus the fact that almost every day I nearly get killed while driving by some a-hole soccer mom/dad or some old lady texting on her Jitterbug while driving does not help things at all. And it's a HUGE peeve of mine to be at the park with the kids and see these poor kids playing and begging for mommy's attention while she is glued to her damn phone. Oh, I could keep going on and on, so I'll stop here. Anyways, the point is, I bought one. A purdy fancy one, I might add.
4. I drove by Starbucks not just once, but several times WITHOUT STOPPING. I need to stop spending money at that place. I am very proud of myself for resisting it after being tempted that many times in one day.
Although their food is seriously gross, I have to admit that I like Big Macs every now 'n then. Thank goodness we go there very infrequently or I would be much, much fatter than I already am.
Today, I pulled in there to grab a quick cup of coffee on my way home from dropping some videos off and notice they now have Big Mac wraps or whatever they are called. Either way, those F-ers!! I can't eat Big Macs because the bread makes me sicker than a dog...that is what keeps me from eating them when I do go there...and now they have wraps (which I can handle as long as the wrap is small)! What is to keep me from getting them now? Self control? HA!
