Catch up for the week

Whooooeee...has this been a boring blog lately or what? Let the blog reflect my boring life, I say.

Really, nothing much has happened lately other than just normal everyday things that could be funny but to be honest with you, I just have not had the motivation lately either.

A few funnies from this week:
Hannah has started a new game of "cameltoe." This is a game that involves her putting mittens on her feet and running around the house making camel noises and yelling "look at my cameltoe!" Hmmm....how young is too young to explain exactly what cameltoe is? I'll wait until she is at least 4.

Another Hannah quip today when I told her we were going to groom and bathe Lenny (which never happened, by the way) "It's weiner washing day!" (Lenny is a weiner dog)

Some cool things from this week:
Haiden actually tried to ride his bike and was doing great until he hit the molehills in our yard. I thought it would be easier to start him in the grass, but now I'm thinking pavement might be a better way to go. Too much mush and soft sand in the yard...

Hannah read an entire book all by herself tonight. She has been reading for a while, but usually gives up after a short page or a few words...tonight she read the entire book! :)

We bought an RV to assist with our moving plans and it will also make it possible for us to camp! I refuse to camp in anything that does not have solid walls and a toilet, so this is just peachy for me. I do love camping, it's just that ever since we went camping in the U.P. and I had to pee at 3 a.m. and there was someone in there breathing heavy wearing bright red high heels (I mean, who wears high heels at 3 a.m. in a secluded campground??? CREEPY!) and something was snuffling outside our tent...well...that pretty much ended my camping in a tent career.

So...sorry for the dullness...I promise I will once again catch the motivation wave one of these days.

A new skill...

After Haiden's absolute flat-out refusal last year to even attempt to try to learn to tie his own shoes, we gave up and figured when he was ready, we'd be there to show him the ropes. Yesterday was that day. On our way out, he all of a sudden announced he wanted to learn and after one go-through with Jeremy, he did it all by himself! I don't mind helping him tie his shoes, but with it being winter and all, I have been sending him to school with the same pair of velcro closure shoes every day because he has to change from boots to shoes several times a day...he is thrilled now that he can wear his new shoes that tie!
Next up...riding a bike.

Happy March! What are your plans for spring?

It's the first day of March! You all know what that means...exactly 21 days until (dare I say it).....SPRING! Yay! I am so happy an end is in sight.
I am gearing up for a busy spring. At least I hope it turns out to be a busy spring. In addition to hoping that work picks up a bit (it's been a few slow weeks...I really could use the $$!), I have big plans to...
1. Start weeding through the house and getting rid of things we don't want to take with us when we do our big move in early summer (hoping for getting outta here by July 1 if possible...).
2. Spring yard cleaning is always a huge nasty chore (3 dogs worth of poo is not anyone's idea of a fun time, is it?), but I actually enjoy it other than the horrific smell.
3. I am looking forward to seeing if my bulbs come up this year and looking forward to the crocuses and spring flowers showing their pretty faces.
4. Jeremy and Hannah's birthdays are March and April, so I'm starting to plan Hannah's birthday. Normally, it's not something I do too far in advance, but this year she has put her order in for a pink pteranodon cake, and I don't think that is going to be something I can do without a little early planning.
I know there is much more I have to do, but these are just a few fun things I'm looking forward to. Numero uno on my looking forward to list is NO MORE SNOW!! The endless dark cloudy days are almost on their way out...bring in the sun and warm weather!
